CLEANSERS, SERUMS, MOISTURISERS FOR COMBINATION SKIN
Combination skin type is when the skin has both dry and oily areas on the face such as
an oily T zone and dry cheeks. La Roche-Posay have developed a variety of face care and
body care products for
combination skin with ingredients such as vitamin c, retinol,
hyaluronic acid and more, providing specific care to different areas of combination skin.
Yes. Saliylic acid is good to use in skincare for combination skin types as it helps in the regulation of excess oil and sebum production. Salicylic acid is also known to be a gentle exfoliant, removing dead skin cells, promoting cell turnover and is also non-comedogenic, making it suitable for oily skin and acne-prone skin types.
Due to combination skin types having areas of both dry skin and oily skin on the face, it is not easy to narrow down on the ideal moisturiser. We recommen La Roche-Posay's moisturiser for combination skin which is the Effaclar Matte Anti-Shine Moisturiser from the Effaclar range, that is formulated with LHA, a derivative of salicylic acid (BHA) to help regulate excess oil and sebum production.
Combination skin types tend to have areas that are both oily and dry. In such cases, it is recommended to use a cleanser that is not only gentle and hydrating, but also exfoliates and helps regulates oil and sebum production without stripping the skin of its moisture. La Roche-Posay's range of cleansers are developed to do just that. We recommend to use a cleanser from the Effaclar range which is the Micro-Peeling Purifying Gel Cleanser suitable for combination skin, made with salicylic acid and glycerin.
La Roche-Posay's range of skincare for combination skin covers a variety of skincare ingredients formulated across different types of products. We recommend the following products from the La Roche-Posay range for combination skin to create your skincare routine:
When completing skincare routines in the morning, always use a sunscreen as the last step, especially when using exfoliating ingredients such as salicylic acid, lactic acid, glycolic acid or any other AHA/BHAs. It is advised to use retinol only at night due to the increase in sun sensitivity of skin.
For combination skin types, it is recommended to use products with skincare ingredients that are not only hydrating and moisturising, but exfoliating as well, to be able to support the skin in both the oily and dry areas. La Roche-Posay products for combination skin are formulated in a way that is gentle enough to use on sensitive skin, but also potent enough to help regulate oil and sebum production that may lead to acne-prone skin if not addressed correctly.
