Fondation La Roche-Posay:
The proof of our commitment alongside dermatologists

The creation of therapeutic adjuncts, continuing education, setting up a "cosmetovigilance" network, etc.: supporting dermatologists in their everyday practice is part of our DNA. In 1995, we decided to take this approach even further by assisting them in their research and knowledge-sharing initiatives. This desire led to the creation of Fondation La Roche-Posay which, under the aegis of La Fondation de France, promotes the actions of dermatology specialists working in the fields of science and social responsibility all around the world.

Supporting young dermatology researchers

Fondation La Roche-Posay's first field of action is scientific in nature. By awarding the Research Prize, it aims to reward and fund the innovative work of young researchers in dermatology on four continents. After evaluation by independent experts, the projects or publications selected are presented to a scientific committee made up of dermatology experts, which awards grants to the most promising applicants. We are thus happy and proud to have supported over 130 researchers and dermatologists to date around the world.

Encouraging socially responsible dermatology initiatives

Fondation La Roche-Posay's second, more society-based area of involvement takes concrete form in the "Dermatologist from the heart" initiative in particular. Launched in France in 2011, this initiative consists of providing aid to socially responsible actions by dermatologists dedicated to improving their patients' quality of life; the programme bestows grants worth €10,000. Just under a dozen countries have already joined the project. In partnership with Fondation La Roche-Posay, "Dermatologist from the heart" helped Andrew Krakowski, a dermatologist at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, California, to develop MissionSkin.org, a community website bringing together patients and cutaneous reconstruction specialists .

Improve the quality of life for children with cancer

In 2019 the La Roche-Posay Foundation and the Childhood Cancer International Association together lay the foundations for an international program dedicated to children with cancer and their families. Created with the expertise of a multidisciplinary scientific committee, this support program aims to improve the quality of life of children, parents, brothers and sisters who are upset by the disease. Isolated by hospitalization and treatment but also because of the fear engendered by the disease, children and families are often helpless. To help tighten or re-create fragile links on a daily basis, to facilitate family reconnection, the program is based on three concrete and ambitious actions: specially adapted parent / child massages, an international digital information portal and a scale of emotions to help young people. children to express what they feel.
