Adults and children: are we all equal under the sun?
Because their skin is finer than ours, children are especially vulnerable to UV rays. What is the best way to protect them?

Education in sun protection: secrets to well-protected skin
Teaching our young ones about the dangers of the sun is vital. For example you can teach them:
- avoid the midday sun
Between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. UV rays are at their most dangerous. Show children how to read their shadow: when it is smaller than them, this is the time to avoid the sun. - take precautions in all situations
It's not just at the beach that children are exposed to intense sunlight, but also at parks and during outdoor activities: they must always use maximum protection. - reapply frequently
A high protection factor does not give unlimited protection. To maintain effective protection, sunscreen must be reapplied generously every two hours and after swimming, sweating or towelling.
Clothing: the best protection
When on vacation, a third of children spend an average of 15 hours a week in a bathing suit: it's too much! Hats, sunglasses and dark-colored clothing are the best defense against UV rays.
